Skin Rejuvenation
What do the treatments do?
We have Intense Pulsed Light treatments that reduce and remove brown and red pigmentation that are the result of aging and exposure to sun. This will also improve uneven color and texture.
When the client has mostly a problem with redness (ie Rosacea) we often use a combination of Lasers and Intense Pulsed Light.
When smaller specific areas need improvement, we can apply the laser or light to improve fine wrinkles, red & brown scars, and pores.
How do I know what type of light or laser device I will need?
It is difficult to know exactly what treatment is best for your skin until we have the opportunity to meet with you. Some problems can be approached in different ways. Factors such as safety, comfort, and cost are often different for each individual client. It is important that we do a comprehensive evaluation to determine what problems you have, and how we can improve your skin. Our consultations are complimentary.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments depends on your situation and what treatment modality is recommended. Typically we design a package of treatments (often different modalities) that will address the problem we are trying to correct. Our recommendations may include an occasional touch-up treatment to maintain the improvements you achieve.
What are the side effects?
Usually there are none. However with any light treatment, occasionally there can be mild effects such as swelling, redness, color change. Often we recommend a patch test to minimize these possibilities. During your consultation the physician will review your medical situation and monitor any issues that arise during treatments.
When will I see results?
Most patients will see significant results within 2 or 3 weeks. Sometimes, improvements are noticed immediately. However the maximum improvement may not be seen for a month after your final treatment.
Skin Tightening
Who can be treated?
Clients of any skin type can be treated. The effect is in the deep dermis, so skin type is not an issue. Men and women of all ages who have an area of lax skin have been treated successfully.
Is Titan different than other skin tightening systems?
Titan is a newer technology that employs light energy. Other systems use radiofrequency. Light energy provides a more uniform distribution of energy for heating the deep dermis. This minimizes the discomfort and does not result in loss of fat in the skin.
Are there any side effects?
Immediately after the treatment you may notice some redness and swelling that usually dissipates in minutes, occasionally takes a few hours.
What do the treatments feel like?
With each Titan pulse, you will feel a brief heating sensation that peaks in intensity. Usually each area receives 3 successive passes of the light device - with mild discomfort during the 3rd pass.
When do I see results?
Some patients see results immediately. Most patients see a gradual tightening over three to six months as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.
What do the treatments feel like?
With each Titan pulse, you will feel a brief heating sensation that peaks in intensity with mild discomfort. Usually each area is treated once, then a second pass is performed.

Vein Treatment
Who can be treated with the laser?
People of all skin types can be treated with our laser. The new and unique design allows us treat even darker skin types. Our physician will advise you if our vein therapy is right for you.
What types of veins can be treated?
We are able to treat red, blue and purple veins on all body parts. Small cherry hemangiomas can usually be taken care of in one session. Small facial veins (telangectasias) can be treated without bruising. Knotty varicose veins may not be a good candidate. The physician will help you decide which vessels will respond to this laser.
How many treatments will I need?
Often clients find that one or two treatments are all that are needed. The number of treatments necessary depends on the number, size, location and color of the vessel. During the consultation, we will advise you on how many to expect. However, individual resuts vary.
How do the treatments feel?
Clients experience anything from a mild pinprick sensation to a more stinging pulse. This sensation is over quickly and after the treatment there is usually no discomfort or sensation at all. Occasionally we will recommend a topical anaesthetic or mild analgesic.
How do I look after the treatment?
Typically following the treatment, you may observe redness and bruising. The bruising may appear worse after one week. If larger leg veins are treated, a spot of brown pigmentation may remain in the area for weeks or months. Those who have leg vein treatments may be advised to wear support hose or tensor wraps.
Are there restrictions on my activity after treatment?
Most normal activities can resume immediately. Strenuous activity and exercise should be avoided for the first 24 hours. Hot baths and hot tubs are not advised for the first two days post treatment. Use of sunscreen is very important in areas of treatment.
When will I see results?
Most clients see significant improvement in most veins two to six weeks after the treatment. Final results may not be apparent for several months. Over time, it is possible for new veins to appear, and these can be treated as well.
Acne Treatment
How many laser treatments are required?
A series of treatments are recommended to get maximum results. Sometimes the best results are obtained with a combination of treatments. These are usually performed every 1 to 4 weeks. You will notice a gradual reduction in the number and severity of acne lesions over the course of treatment. During the complimentary consultation, we will discuss and determine which treatments and how many will give the best results within your budget.
How long will the results last?
Studies have shown that the improvement can be maintained for at least several months to 2 years after the series of laser/light treatments.
How will my face look after the treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, there will be mild redness and swelling in the area treated. This will subside in about one hour. The exception is with Photo Dynamic Therapy: usually redness and peeling persist for a week to 10 days. There are rarely any other side effects.

How long does the treatment last?

Hair Removal
What areas of the body are treated with the laser?
Virually any area of the body that has unwanted hair can be treated by laser. Facial and bikini areas are usually completed in under 30 minutes, legs and larger areas can take longer. For both men and women, this a procedure to remove unwanted hair. The best results are achieved on darker hair but other factors may influence the treatment process, and are generally best evaluated and discussed with your laser specialist.
What precautions should I take?
Avoid the sun 4-6 weeks before treatment. Avoid plucking or waxing hair 6 weeks prior to treatment. You should discuss your desired results and the improvements you expect to achieve. Together you and the consultant can decide if your expectations will be met and if the laser treatment is the best option.
Why should I choose laser hair removal?
Traditional hair removal techniques, such as shaving, plucking, and waxing, provide only temporary relief. Until now, the only semi-permanent way to remove hair has been by electrolysis - which can be painful, time consuming and is limited to small cosmetic areas. Scarring, allergic reactions and ingrown hairs are common side effects of all these hair removal methods. Our lasers safely remove unwanted body hair without damaging the delicate pores and structures of the skin.
How many treatments will I need?
Hair grows in cycles. The number of treatments required depends upon your skin, hair coloring and coarseness of the hair. Repeated sessions (an average of 6) will be necessary to treat these follicles when they re-enter the growth phase.

Laser Toe Nail Treatment
How does Laser toe nail treatment work?
Tiny pulses of light from the laser pass through the toe nail to the fungus underneath. The fungus is treated without any damage to the surrounding nail or skin.
When will I see results?
You won't notice anything immediately following treatment. However, as your nail grows out, the new nail growth should be clear. Toe nails grow slowly especially nails infected with fungus. So, it may take 6-12 months for your toenail to clear.
Will the fungus come back?
Reinfection with toenail fungus may be acquired anywhere from your environment, for example, in damp areas such as public swimming pools. We can suggest ways to prevent the fungus from reoccurring.
When can I apply nail polish?
While it is important to remove nail polish, decoration and jewelry prior to treatment, you can reapply nail polish 24 hours after treatment.
How does the Laser toe nail treatment compare to other toenail fungus treatments?
Traditional treatments such as nail trimming, topical medicine, oral medicine or nail removal have significant drawbacks. Nail trimming doesn't treat the fungus. Topical medicines need to be applied for 12 months and have a low success rate. Oral medicines are taken for 3 months but can cause liver or kidney problems. Our laser toe nail treament is a quick, easy, safe, effective procedure that treats the fungus at the source.
