Makeup Tips for Mature Skin
Before you apply any makeup, be sure you use a good moisturizer on your face and eye cream around your eyes. This will help with smoothing on an even layer of foundation
- If you want your makeup to last longer and go on evenly consider using a primer. Don’t forget the eyelids!
- Stay away from dark lipsticks unless you have very full lips or have a dark skin tone. As we age our lips get thinner. It is best to use a lip liner then fill in with rosy reds or pinks. Highlight the full part of your lips with gloss to get a “fuller” look.
- Use an eye pencil instead of a liquid liner. Best to use grays and browns. Black eyeliner appears very harsh. Use a small angled makeup brush to “smudge” the line to soften the look. In fact you can use this brush with a brown eyeshadow and draw a soft muted line along the eyelash line.
- Define your eyebrows! As we mature we often lose the fullness in our brows and the color turns gray or white. Once again use a brown or taupe eyeshadow or brow cream to fill in the brow and don’t forget to extend the line to be parallel to the curve of your eye.
Fall and Winter is a good time to get your feet looking soft and smooth:
Take a moment before bedtime or before you settle in to your Netflix movie. Slather your feet with petroleum jelly (be generous) or better yet our Kamea G emollient foot cream –its 15% off this month! Then put on an old pair of socks and let it soak in. Best to leave the socks on overnight.
